Some people hold the opinion that religion is the ultimate source of morality, and that without religion, human would be immoral beasts. Lincoln refuted this notion by advocating "good" according to his heart. I know he's a theist, but in this statement, the way he paints morality without the heavy crayon of religious belief strike a chord in me.
