Income Tax

IncomeTax

If you play Monopoly, you would surely know the "Income Tax" curse. What happens is, you play very hard for the whole circle, you try to avoid the other players' properties, and you wish that you pass through the "Go" square to get some extra money. But right after you finally pass the "Go" square and get your hard-earned salary, sometimes you land on the cursed "Income Tax" square and lose all your money.

This was what happened to me. I have been tutoring students for the past two weeks and I earned 235 dollars in the process. Today I landed on the income tax square - my stupid tooth cost me 240 dollars as I went to emergency

Damn it. And I am having high fever at the same time.

Well... put it this way...at least now you're only 'losing' $5...if u didn't tutor, u'd have lost $240

yeah, you should look at the bright side-at least you pass through the "go" square instead of landing on the high-class hotels just before the "go"=P

Anyway, rest more and take care.

What a good description!!

By the way, how is your tooth?? Everyone is so concerned with it!

Take care la... if the tooth is annoying... just pull it off... then it will never hurt again... (haha... what a brilliant idea!!)

Hi guys, actually what happened was, I got a bad toothache that woke me up on Monday. Since then it's been going on and off, and on Wednesday I started to have high fever. So I couldn't stand it anymore and on Thursday I was forced to go to the emergency care department of a dental hospital nearby. Here we don't have any insurance cover for dental service (for international students, I mean), so I have to pay the private care rate which amounted to 240 dollars.

Apparently there had been a decay right inside my old filling (yes I do have regular check-up and dental filling every year). It's so deep that it's hurt the nerve. So the dentists spent an hour taking x-ray of my teeth, taking out my old fillings (actually two teeth were affected although I only felt painful in one), and give me a new set of filling. Haha each filling cost 90+, and together with the x-ray and local anaesthetics it summed up to 240 dollars.

But here the dentists a bit special, you know there is this spotlight they use to shine your mouth cavity? Normally in Malaysia you either have to bear the light or just shut your eyes while enjoying the process, but here they actually gave me a set of sunglasses to put on. Haha!

I am fine now, and the fever lasted for three days and it's apparently related to the teeth decay. Sigh, the lesson of the story is, don't ever get a dental problem overseas. It costs you a bomb. :(
